Visions for Vacancies: What Should Move to Former Bridal Boutique?

A small storefront located at 382 Bloomfield Ave. has been vacant since March.

In this installment of Visions for Vacancies, The Caldwells Patch asks: What do you think should move into 382 Bloomfield Ave., the former home of Say I Do Bridal Boutique?

All possibilities are on the table. We ask you to forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump-lot coverage rules, and all the other zoning jargon that puts most people to sleep. If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

This store became vacant in March after the bridal boutique moved next door. Located in the heart of the Caldwell's shopping district, the first-floor space shares a building with Precision Vision and second-floor offices.

Inside, the store is small and somewhat narrow — similar in shape to a railroad car. Outside, there is no shortage of parking in the area with metered parking on Bloomfield Avenue and free parking in the rear of the building.

What about a cafe? Or a frozen yogurt shop? Or how about a romantic restaurant? Let us know your ideas in the comment section below.
