Caldwells Mail May Be Lost in Truck Fire
The state Department of Treasury is working to assist residents in many Essex County towns whose mail, sent to government offices between Sept. 7 and Sept. 10, burned in a truck fire last month. Affected zip codes begin with 070 to 076, 078, 079, 088 and 089.
Cardiomyopathy Afflicts West Caldwell Girl
Nine-year-old Anna Torok of West Caldwell has a heart disease called dilated cardiomyopathy. While most people haven’t heard of cardiomyopathy, one in 100,000 children will be diagnosed with it.
The Torok family is holding "Hearts of Hope," a benefit for the Children’s Cardiomyopathy Foundation, at the Women’s Club of Caldwell, 31 Westville Ave., on Sunday, October 14, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Caldwell Street Fair Set for Sunday
The first Sunday in October always means one thing in the Caldwells—it’s time for the Rotary/Kiwanis Caldwell Street Fair.
The 21st annual Caldwell Street Fair will bring more than 200 vendors and an estimated 30,000 area residents to downtown Caldwell on Sunday, Oct. 7. Fair hours are noon to 5 p.m.
