West Caldwell Native Pitches Muhlenberg College to 20-Win Season
2009 James Caldwell High School graduate Rob Shannon went 2-5 this year for the college's baseball team.
A West Caldwell native helped Muhlenberg College's baseball team to its fourth 20-win season in school history this year.
Rob Shannon was the ace for the college's baseball team this spring, going 2-5 with a 4.04 ERA. A 2009 graduate of James Caldwell High School, Shannon started a team-high of 11 games.
Shannon, a senior, struck out 45 batters in 69 innings and picked off a Centennial Conference-leading nine runners. In his best outing, the southpaw allowed only 3 hits and no earned runs while striking out nine in 7 innings to beat Lebanon Valley College.

For his career at the Allentown, Pa., college, Shannon finished in the top 15 on Muhlenberg’s all-time lists in appearances (7th with 46), innings pitched (8th with 201) and strikeouts (13th with 121).
Muhlenberg finished the season with a record of 20-20. The Mules were 7-11 in the Centennial Conference, doubling their league win total from 2012 and set a school record with 84 doubles
