West Essex Middle Students Win Literary Contest for Best Scary Story

Five students at the North Caldwell middle school, who have been selected as the "Knightlight" winners, will have their stories published.

Five West Essex Middle School students have been chosen as the winners of the “Knightlights” Scary Story Contest. “Knightlights” Advisor James Massa and Middle School Assistant Principal Lisa Tamburri congratulated the winners, who were selected by the “Knightlights” club members, who make the selections for the middle school literary magazine.

Pictured from left to right are the students won for their stories: eighth graders Tyler Behrle of North Caldwell and Sam Chuzhin of Roseland for their story “6436,” eighth grader Caroline Ben Nathan of North Caldwell for “Dreams of Possession,” eighth grader Leigha Capra of Fairfield for “Letters” and seventh grader Thomas “T.J.” Viola of North Caldwell for “Ghost of Dragon Blades.”

The stories will be published in the 2014/2015 edition of the “Knightlights” which will be available in June, 2015. The literary magazine features poems, short stories, plays, songs and essays.
