Women’s Club of Caldwell Sponsors Student Art Contest

Students from K-12 are encouraged to submit their favorite drawings of a park, backyard, or dinner table for the 'My Favorite Place' theme.

From The Women's Club of Caldwell: The Women’s Club of Caldwell is sponsoring a Student Art Contest in conjunction with the Caldwell Merchant’s Association Art on the Avenue. Art on the Avenue will take place along Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell, onSaturday, June 3rd from 10am to 5pm. The rain date will be Sunday, June 4th from 12 noon to 5pm. Students in Kindergarten through Twelfth grade are invited to participate in the contest.

All entries must be submitted by Friday, May 26 to the Caldwell Library, 268 Bloomfield Ave, Caldwell. A flier with detailed contest rules and submission information can be found at the Caldwell Library, and the Women’s Club of Caldwell website (www.womensclubofcaldwell.org). The theme of this year’s contest is “My Favorite Place”. Ideas for drawings could include a favorite park, their backyard, family dinner table, grandparents house, a place they visited etc. Student artwork will be grouped for judging in four categories; Kindergarten to Second Grade, Third through Fifth Grade, Sixth trough Eighth Grade and Ninth through Twelfth Grade.

Artwork will be judged on the originality, the artistic composition, and interpretation of the theme “My Favorite Place”. All Artwork submitted will initially be judged by members of the Women’s Club of Caldwell. Finalists will be displayed at Art on the Avenue for final judging on June 3rd (Rain date June 4). The finalists will be judged by a group of independent professional artists. Ribbons will be given to First, Second and Third Place winners.

The winners will be announced by 2:30pm on the day of the show. In addition, the First, Second and Third Place winning artwork in each category will be displayed at the Caldwell Public Library during the month of June.
