• Woodbridge officer's life cut short in horrific Carteret wreck (wobm.com) — A Woodbridge police officer was killed in a Tuesday night crash on Peter J. Sica Industrial Highway in Carteret, after his pickup collided with a tanker. The 31-year-old, a seven-year department veteran and former local football standout, was off duty at the time and died at the hospital. Funeral details have not yet been announced.
   

• Boys Basketball: Carteret Pulls Away in the Fourth Quarter to Defeat JFK-Iselin, 57-46 (tapinto.net) — Carteret boys basketball thrilled home fans by pulling away late to beat JFK-Iselin 57-46, staying unbeaten at 2-0. Senior guard Qorey Carter poured in 25 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, as the Ramblers’ pressure defense, rebounding, and conditioning turned a tight game into a convincing early-season statement.
