$50K Winning Powerball Lottery Ticket Sold In Chatham
The ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Power Ball, winning the $50,000 second-tier prize.

CHATHAM, NJ — Have you checked your Powerball tickets?
Three New Jersey lottery players, including one from Morris County, won $50,000 each in Saturday night's Powerball drawing, the New Jersey Lottery announced on Monday.
The Morris County ticket was sold at Hickory Wine Cellar, which is located at 641 Shunpike Road in Chatham Township.

The other two winning tickets were sold here:
- J & L $.99 Cents & Up on Ocean Ave. in Jersey City (Hudson County)
- Krauszers Food Store on River Road in Fair Haven (Monmouth County)
The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday night’s drawing has climbed to $1.2 billion after no one matched all six numbers drawn Monday. The cash value of the grand prize is now $551.7 million.

Winning the jackpot—now the third-largest in Powerball history and the seventh-largest among U.S. lottery jackpots—seems a matter of sheer luck. The odds of winning the jackpot are about 1 in 292.2 million. The odds of winning any prize are better, at 1 in 24.9. Lesser prize amounts range from $4 up to $1 million.
Tickets in New Jersey must have been purchased by 9:59 p.m. to be eligible for Wednesday’s drawing, which will be held at 10:59 p.m.
A jackpot winner in Wednesday’s drawing may claim the full prize through annualized payments over 30 years or the cash option, or they may take the $551.7 million cash option. In either case, the winnings are taxable.
