Chatham Township Police Officers Promoted to Sergeant
Chatham Township Mayor conducted the swearing-in ceremony for the two police officers.

A pair of Chatham Township Police officers were promoted to the rank of sergeant on Thursday night.
Brad Hayworth and Patrick Meade were officially promoted to sergeant at the regular meeting of the Chatham Township Committee, according to a report from TAPinto.net. Township Mayor Kevin Sullivan read the qualifications of each officer before conducting the swearing-in ceremony.
Hayworth, a 15-year veteran with the Chatham Township Police, is now assigned to the detective bureau, the report said. In 2013, he received the Chief’s Recognition Award for outstanding investigative performance. Additionally, he previously received a life-saving award and meritorious recognition for encountering an armed suspect, the report said.

Meade began his career with the Chatham Township Police in 1989. He has received five life-saving medals and one meritorious award for an encounter with an armed supect, TAPinto.net said. He has twice been assigned to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, once as an undercover agent.
