CHATHAM, NJ — Members of the Chatham Borough council will vote on passing an amendment to the current animal and rabies control code in order to add a new "fee" section, penalizing late registration.
According to the council, the new fee will penalize pet owners who are late in registering and licensing their animals with the borough.
All residents who do not submit the paperwork in the time allotted will be charged a fee of $10 to comply with the new rule, which must be paid to the Borough of Chatham.
