CHATHAM, NJ — The Chatham Borough police department is participating in the national Coffee with a Cop program, which provides for people to get to know their officers.

The Coffee with a Cop date is set for 9:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday at Mo'Dough, a restaurant that bills itself as an artisanal dough maker, specializing in classics like doughnuts, pizza, and pasta.

Mo’Dough recently opened its doors in Chatham at 262 Main Street, replacing Asahda's Soulfood Restaurant, which closed its doors shortly after opening in 2021.

The Coffee with a Cop program encourages the community to stop into a local coffee shop to have a cup of coffee and a relaxed one-on-one conversation with the officers in an effort to build positive relationships with the people they serve.

Local residents are invited to speak with local police officers and ask questions, voice concerns, or simply get to know the officers better by "removing agendas."
