Six Residents Seek Votes in June Primary in the Chathams

The deadline to submit a petition to be placed on the ballot passed Monday afternoon.

Election season is coming up and six residents are seeking votes for the Chatham Township and Chatham Borough committees.

The deadline to submit a petition to be placed on the ballot came and went on Monday, March 30. Six residents are on the ballot for the Chatham Township and Chatham Borough councils.

The following candidates filed a petition for local elected office in the Borough of Chatham:

  • Mayor: Bruce A. Harris (incumbent)
  • Council: Patrick Carroll; Leonard Resto; Peter J. Hoffman

In Chatham Township, incumbent Mayor Kevin Sullivan is running for re-election against Republican Kathy Abbott. One township seat is available. No Democratic candidates filed.

Anyone looking to run as an Independent in the General Election has until the end of the Primary Election to submit his or her name.

The Primary is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
