Police Issue Careless Driving Summonses

Mala Heard, 20, of Chatham, was slowing down when her car was struck from behind, according to police.

The driver of the second car, Andrew Pascal, 20, of Livingston said he looked away for a moment, police said.
When Pascal turned back, Heard's vehicle had slowed and he was unable to stop in time, according to police.

Another Day, Another Accident
Patrolman Roy George investigated an accident on Summit Avenue at 1:11 p.m. Saturday, June 30, police said.
A 2003 GMC driven by Diane DaSilva, 43, of Elizabeth, was traveling north on Summit Avenue when she struck a parked car, according to police.
Police issued DaSilva a summons for careless driving.
