Trapped Ducklings Rescued By Chatham Police Officer
The little ducklings fell into a catch basin, according to police.
CHATHAM, NJ — A pair of ducklings got themselves into a predicament when they fell into a catch basin on Friday.
Luckily, Chatham Sgt. Scott Herchick was nearby and able to rescue the ducks.
The pair of ducklings were wandering near Longwood Avenue when they fell into a catch basin and got stuck. A catch basin is a hole in the ground that "catches" rainfall or any surface water runoff.

"When Sgt. Scott Herchick is not busy patrolling Chatham Township neighborhoods, he's rescuing ducklings," the police department wrote.
