Camden County Flu Clinics Begin Today
The county has 19 flu vaccination events scheduled for Oct. 10-Nov. 5.

Camden County’s annual flu shot program kicks off today, Oct. 10, with the first of 19 clinics scheduled.
The 2012 Seasonal Influenza and Pneumonia Immunization Program begins at the Senior Health Fair because senior citizens are among the priority groups for flu shots, said Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez, liaison to the Camden County Health Department.
Other high-priority groups include pregnant women and the chronically ill. Flu shots are also recommended for those with weakened immune or cardiovascular systems, chronic metabolic diseases, renal dysfunction or blood disorders.

The clinics serve county residents 9 years and older (minors must be accompanied by an adult.) Children younger than 9 need two shots a month apart, and should visit a pediatrician. For uninsured children, call CamCare at 856-541-9811 or the Bellmawr Health Center at 856-931-2700.
“In order to keep your family healthy this flu season, we encourage you to take advantage of this beneficial service provided by Camden County,” Rodriguez said in a statement. “We are hosting immunization sites at convenient locations across Camden County, including the annual Senior Health Fair at Cooper River Park.”
