East Girls, West, Camden Catholic Boys in Soccer Playoffs

Tournament play opens next week.

Three local soccer teams are heading to the postseason, as the Cherry Hill East girls and Cherry Hill West and Camden Catholic boys all scored seeds in their respective tournaments, per the official seeds released by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA).

The West boys nabbed the highest seed, grabbing the No. 10 spot in South Jersey, Group 4—an improvement over a season ago, when they just slipped in as a No. 15 seed, losing to eventual sectional champ Washington Township.

The Lions will still have to hit the road for the playoffs again this year, heading to Egg Harbor Township in the opening round, scheduled for Tuesday.

The East girls will also be tested in a road game in the first round—after earning the No. 14 seed in South Jersey, Group 4, they’ll have to face No. 3 Williamstown to start off the tournament on Monday.

The two squads have already faced off once this season, with Williamstown coming away with a 1-0 victory.

The Camden Catholic boys face the toughest route through the postseason—the No. 15 seed in the Non-Public, South A tournament, the Irish will have to win on the road all the way through, with no shot at hosting a tournament game.

They’ll get it started against No. 2 seed Notre Dame in Lawrenceville Tuesday.
