New Immersive Game Room In Cherry Hill Will Be Free On Opening Day
A shuttered pharmacy has been transformed into an 'active' gaming facility where players will climb walls, dodge lasers and more.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — An immersive, escape room-style game room opens in Cherry Hill on Friday. To mark the occasion, it will be free that day.
Activate describes itself as "the world's first active gaming experience." The Canada-headquartered company has opened locations throughout the world.
The Cherry Hill location is Activate's first in South Jersey and Greater Philadelphia.

Activate has interactive light-up game rooms that put players through ever-changing virtual environments. Small groups must work through various challenges, such as climbing walls, solving puzzles and dodging lasers.

The company launched in Winnipeg, Canada, in 2019 and now operates more than 50 locations across North America, Europe and Dubai. Activate plans to open 200 more locations in the next decade.
Activate in Cherry Hill is located at the site of the former Rite Aid pharmacy (1509 Route 38).
Friday marks the grand opening. From 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Activate will be free to all, whether they book online or walk in.
