Longterm Roadwork On Busy Cherry Hill Street Gets Underway

The $7.5 million project is expected to be done by the end of August.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A $7.5 million project reconstructing Kresson Road in Cherry Hill broke ground on Monday.

Kresson Road will be reconstructed from Browning Lane to Cropwell Road — a 2.1-mile stretch. The project is expected to be completed by the end of August, according to the Camden County Government, which is funding it.

Patch broke news of the project in May, when county officials included it as part of a $161 million program to upgrade Camden County's roadways and bridges through 2026.

  • replacement of stormwater pipes
  • traffic signal upgrades
  • pedestrian improvements, including adding sidewalks and ADA curb ramps
  • improved traffic striping and signage
  • installing dedicated bike lanes

The impacted portion of the roadway includes Cherry Hill High School East, the Katz JCC and several houses of worship.

Traffic flow will be maintained throughout the project, but officials asked drivers for patience.

"Kresson Road is one of Cherry Hill Township’s most heavily traveled roadways, and this investment will greatly improve safety, accessibility, and the overall driving experience for residents, pedestrians, and commuters alike," said County Commissioner Al Dyer. "We ask that drivers for their patience during the construction period, as the short-term inconvenience will lead to longterm infrastructure improvements for our community."
