Mayor's Wellness Campaign Promotes Healthy Living In Cherry Hill

Mayor Dave Fleisher wants residents to take the wellness campaign pledge. Here's what it takes.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Cherry Hill's mayor is launching a campaign to promote healthy habits in the township.

"Healthier Together — Cherry Hill Mayor's Wellness Campaign" will identify and promote opportunities for healthy living, including recreational opportunities, fitness programs and cooking classes.

Mayor Dave Fleisher and his wife, Jen, are the campaign's co-chairs.

The initiative kicks off with a wellness walk at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Cherry Hill Mall. The public is invited to join the Fleishers and Township Council members on the walk. It will convene by the Seasons 52 and Blue Fig Garden entrance inside the mall.

The wellness walks will take place monthly.

Residents can also sign up to take the Mayor's Wellness Campaign pledge, which has three components:

  1. Get active: Exercising at least three times a week for 30 minutes.
  2. Eat healthier: Increase consumption of fruits and vegetables, drink more water, and limiting consumption of junk food.
  3. Know your numbers: Consult with a doctor to understand my weight, BMI, cholesterol and blood pressure.
