No injuries were reported, but the damage displaced several residents, officials said.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — An Upstate New York man was arrested Tuesday after he crashed a moving truck into an apartment building and displaced several residents, officials said.

The truck hit a building near 1800 Burroughs Mill Circle just before noon, authorities said. No injuries were reported, but the crash heavily damaged the apartment complex and caused a gas leak in the private, residential community.

The incident appears to be isolated and accidental, and there is no ongoing threat to the public, police said.

About 20 people were displaced, officials told 6abc Action News.

Staff of the Burroughs Mill apartment community quickly provided temporary housing accommodations, police said.

The 1800 block of Burroughs Mill Circle was closed for nearly a day as crews stabilized the building and fixed utilities. The roadway has reopened as of late Wednesday morning, police said.
