New Year's Twins Born In Different Years At South Jersey Hospital

Ezekiel was born late on New Year's Eve. Soon after the ball dropped, Ezra followed.

VOORHEES, NJ — A South Jersey family recently welcomed twins who were born in different years.

Ezekiel and Ezra entered the world only 40 minutes apart at Voorhees Virtua Hospital — one on New Year's Eve and the other on New Year's Day.

Ezra was born at 11:48 p.m. that night, registering at 4 pounds, 15 ounces and 18 inches long. Ezekiel followed at 12:28 a.m., at 4 pounds and 17 inches long.

It was already a special time of year for their parents, Eve and Billy. Eve was born Dec. 7, while Billy shares a Dec. 31 birthday with Ezra. Their oldest son, Hezekiah, will mark another trip around the sun on Jan. 3, according to NJ Advance Media.

Hundreds of thousands of babies are born worldwide on New Year's Day — UNICEF estimated 371,504 births on Jan. 1, 2021. Fiji welcomes the first New Year babies, before American newborns close out the day.
