Incumbents Lead Contested Democratic Primary For NJ Assembly In District 6
The Democratic officeholders led their primary challengers as of 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — The incumbents lead in the State Assembly election for New Jersey's 6th legislative district with the tally still underway on Tuesday night.
Assembly Members Melinda Kane (15,644 votes) and Louis Greenwald (15,310) lead primary challengers Rebecca Holloway (12,411) and Kevin Ryan (8,416), with 87 percent of votes counted as of 10:30 p.m., according to the Associated Press.

The district, which is mostly in Camden County, has been represented by Democrats in the State Legislature since the late 1990s.
On the Republican side, John Brangan and Peter Sykes had an uncontested primary.

The primary winners will advance to the General Election on Nov. 4, which will also include any third-party or independent candidates who enter the race.
All State Assembly seats are up for election this year — as is the New Jersey governorship, which is slated for a showdown between Rep. Mikie Sherrill, a Democrat, and former Assembly Member Jack Ciattarelli for the GOP.
The election results remain unofficial until certified on a later date.

District 6 contains the following cities and towns: Audubon Park, Berlin Borough, Berlin Township, Cherry Hill, Clementon, Gibbsboro, Haddon, Haddonfield, Hi-Nella, Laurel Springs, Lawnside, Lindenwold, Magnolia, Maple Shade, Oaklyn, Pine Hill, Somerdale, Stratford, Tavistock and Voorhees.
