NJ Governor Candidate To Bring Campaign To Cherry Hill
Members of the public can meet with one of the candidates in a crowded race for governor.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A candidate for governor is taking his campaign to Cherry Hill this weekend.
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka is holding a meet-and-greet from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Sunday at Silver Diner (2131 Route 38).
"Join Mayor Ras Baraka, a former teacher and principal, to discuss education with educators from around the South Jersey!" says the event page, where members of the public can register to attend.

Baraka is one of several gubernatorial candidates running in the Democratic primary. He has been Newark's mayor since 2014, taking office after spending several years as a high school principal in the city.
The Democratic field also includes Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, U.S. Reps. Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) and Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11), state teacher's union president Sean Spiller, and former State Senate President Stephen Sweeney.

Meanwhile, former State Assembly Member Jack Ciattarelli has been widely favored in recent polls to secure the Republican nomination. Ciattarelli was also the Republican candidate in the 2021 gubernatorial election but lost to Gov. Phil Murphy.
Primary Election Day is June 10.
