Santucci's has long been a recognizable name in Philadelphia's pizza scene. In 1959, Joseph and Philomena Santucci opened their first namesake restaurant in the city. Their family recipe — making pizza in a square pan with the sauce above the cheese — was considered unconventional at first but has since inspired pizzerias throughout Greater Philly.

The square pizzeria now has about a dozen locations, with more in the works for South Jersey. Another location is planned for Deptford, while The Taproom in Haddon Township is adding Santucci's to their menu.
