Scammers Targeting Cherry Hill Residents With Phony Police Calls, Texts: Cops
Police are warning residents to stay alert and inform them of suspicious activity.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — Authorities are warning Cherry Hill residents about scammers impersonating local officers on the phone.
Scammers have been calling and texting residents and claiming to be from the Cherry Hill Police Department, the agency said Tuesday.
The CHPD says it will never request any personal or financial information over the phone, nor will the department send unsolicited links.

"If you believe you have been a victim of this scam please DO NOT give the individual any of your personal or financial information," the CHPD said. "Simply, hang up, do not click on any links and call our non-emergency line at 856-665-1200."
"If you received a call, please be sure you do not call the number back," the agency's statement continued. "To do so, type the number into your phone manually instead."
