School Board Chooses Community Volunteer To Fill Cherry Hill Vacancy

Gina Winters will fill the seat previously occupied by Kimberly Friddell, the district said.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Gina Winters is the Cherry Hill School Board of Education's newest member, having been chosen to fill the position that was vacated by Kimberly Friddell when Friddell resigned on July 1.

Winters holds several volunteer positions within the township, including religious education teacher, youth minister and Girl Scout leader, according to her biography page on the school district's website.

During her interview before the school board, she said the upcoming bond referendum was an important issue facing the school district, as was the school district's capacity.

"It affects the availability of school and child care, both morning and afternoon ... and also class size and overcrowding issues," she said of the second issue.

The third issue Winters brought up was finding ways to bridge the perceived "East-West divide" in the district.
