South Jersey Man Meets Kidney Donor Who Saved His Life: Report
Ed Silberman of Cherry Hill had a kidney transplant in 2020. Three years later, he flew to Colorado to meet the man who saved his life.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — A South Jersey man recently flew to Colorado to meet the man who saved his life through organ donation, according to a report.
Ed Silberman of Cherry Hill learned he needed a kidney transplant in 2018, he told Action News. After receiving the kidney in 2020, he flew to Denver to meet Dave Heal, the donor who saved his life.
The emotional meeting between the two men was captured on video by an Action News crew. In the video, the two men embrace and Silberman asks Heal, "By the way, would you like to say hi to your kidney?"

Silberman told Action News, "To be able to donate, the gesture (Dave) did without knowing me. I was very fortunate enough to have that happen to me."
