West Boys Soccer Pulls off Playoff Upset

The Lions won on the road in the first round Tuesday.

Gabe Watkins scored twice as the Cherry Hill West boys soccer team went on the road and pulled off the upset in the first round of the South Jersey, Group 4 tournament Tuesday, beating No. 7 Egg Harbor Township, 2-0.

The No. 10-seeded Lions got a goal in each half from Watkins, whose offensive effort was backed by keeper Hayden Remphrey, who made four saves in the shutout.

West will get a date with No. 2 Kingsway, a 2-0 winner over No. 15 Eastern, in the second round.
