West Football Overcomes Injury, Edges Woodrow Wilson
Cherry Hill East and Camden Catholic didn't have the same luck this weekend.

Cherry Hill West’s football team isn’t letting anything stop it on the way to a first-ever playoff berth—not even losing its star quarterback in the middle of a game.
With Rodney Williams, who threw for one touchdown and ran for another early, out after aggravating a leg injury, the Lions kept rolling, getting two scores from running back Tyrone Williams and a touchdown pass from backup quarterback Joey Argentina to Chris Pascall to edge Woodrow Wilson Saturday, 34-33.
Tyrone Williams ended the day with 193 yards to go with the TDs, and the Lions also got some big stops on defense, including a pair of blocked extra points, which proved to be the difference-maker.

It’s West’s fourth victory this season, and second straight after a loss to Timber Creek. The Lions had been sitting seventh in the Group 4 power points standing heading into the weekend, with one fewer game played than all the teams above them.
West shouldn’t be without its starting quarterback for very long—after the game, Rodney Williams tweeted briefly about the injury and the frustration he had at having to watch from the sideline.

“Proud of my team playing their heart out and getting the win,” he tweeted. “I’ll be back soon.”

Bishop Eustace 10, Camden Catholic 6
The Irish were upset at home, as the Crusaders got a second-half touchdown from Tim McConnell and a late interception by Tom Tyrell to seal the victory.
It was only the third time in two decades Bishop Eustace has been able to beat the Irish.
Camden Catholic’s Malik Johnson scored the only touchdown for the Irish, on a two-yard plunge in the second quarter.
Paul VI 49, Cherry Hill East 13
The Cougars broke their scoring drought, but Paul VI quarterback Alec Vignola’s three touchdown passes proved to be too much in the loss.
