Airman Killed In Car Crash Outside Base In Burlington Co.

NORTH HANOVER, NJ — A U.S. Airman died after his vehicle struck a pole Thursday in Burlington County, officials said.
It happened near Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, where he was stationed. A spokesperson for the base identified the driver as Air Force Staff Sgt. Ronald Brasswell Jr.
At around 7 a.m. Thursday, Brasswell lost control of his vehicle while driving south on Defense Access Highway in North Hanover, officials said. His 2020 Toyota Camry left the roadway and hit a utility pole.

No one else was in the vehicle.
Brasswell was brought to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

He was in his mid-20s, officials said.
Brasswell was an Airman from the 605th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, which is stationed at the McGuire Air Force Base.
Personnel at the base "are grieving the loss of a member of our Air Force family," Col. Kathleen Hasson, 305th Air Mobility Wing commander, said in a statement. "We have several helping agencies available for anyone who needs assistance and encourage our teammates to reach out during this difficult time."
