Cinnaminson is looking to make up for lost time, as the Pirates were 8-1-2 and had won the first game in the modified playoff format last season before it was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to The Cinnaminson Sun.

Cinnaminson extended that winning streak, winning 15 of their first 16 games this season before suffering their only loss, to Delsea, according to nj.com. This included four wins in the Coaches Cup.

In addition to the rally over Kingsway in the final, Cinnaminson beat Rancocas Valley on penalty kicks after battling to a 1-1 draw in regulation; Clearview, 2-0; and Sterling, 1-0. The cup recognizes the unofficial champion of South Jersey, regardless of school size or classification.

The Pirates are 18-1-2 heading into their second round playoff game at No. 4 Haddonfield on Thursday. The winner of that game plays the winner of the game between No. 1 Delran and No. 8 Point Pleasant Boro on Monday. The South Jersey final takes place Nov. 11, with the winner moving on to play for the Group 2 state championship.
