Cinnaminson Election Guide: Municipal, County And Federal

Here are the candidates running in the township and Burlington County.

As we look ahead to November’s elections, Cinnaminson Patch is devoted to bringing you the information you need about every race in town. Here's our start on the municipal, county and federal candidates we'll be covering as November draws near. Bookmark this page for updates.

  •  The committee race this November will be uncontested as no Democrats nor Independents filed for candidacy against two Republicans. Current Mayor Don Brauckmann and newcomer John McCarthy will run unopposed for two open seats. Committeeman John Rooney is not seeking re-election.
  •  Five candidates are running for three open seats on the township school board. They are: incumbents James J. McGuckin Jr. and Dolores Woodington, and William E. Conley, Laura J. Fitzwater and Harry Shea. Shea is back after not running in last year's election. He served on the school board for more than 20 years before last year.
  • Burlington County Freeholders: Democrats Aimee Belgard of Edgewater Park and Joanne Schwartz of Southampton face incumbent Republicans Bruce Garganio of Florence and Mary Ann O’Brien of Medford.
  • U.S. Congress Incumbent Republican Jon Runyan faces Democrat Shelley Adler, the widow of John Adler, whom Runyan defeated for his seat.
  • U.S. Senate: U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D), the junior United States Senator from New Jersey who was first appointed in 2006 to fill Jon Corzine's seat, takes on Republican challenger Joe Kyrillos, who easily defeated three opponents in the primary.
