Cinnaminson Swimmer's Olympic Journey Ends
Mary Kate Davis made a strong personal showing at the Olympic swimming trials in Nebraska, but fell short on advancing.

While Cinnaminson teen Mary Kate Davis won’t be swimming as a U.S. Olympian in London, her family is nothing but pleased and proud of her performance Saturday.
Davis, 15, competed in the 2012 Olympic team trials in the 200-meter backstroke, but didn’t advance to the semi-final round. She swam a 2:19.93, putting her in 136th place in a field of 186 swimmers. In a sport where every millisecond matters, Davis’ time was 11.58 seconds behind the winner, Missy Franklin.
“She did not make it to the finals, but she swam a great race,” Davis’ mom, Kathy Davis, texted Cinnaminson Patch. “She swam a very strong race and moved up 35 spots.
