Temple Sinai and Action Karate will hold a hop-a-thon Friday to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Temple Sinai is teaming up with Action Karate to hold another hop-a-thon this Friday to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
Sinai hosted its first hop-a-thon last year, raising more than $800 for the MDA, according to Matthew Brenner, head instructor at Action Karate.
The event will be held at Temple Sinai from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday, and is open to children between 3 and 5 years old.

In addition to the hop-a-thon, Brenner said Action Karate instructors will teach free 15-minute fun self-defense classes to the children who participate.
Action has been holding classes at Temple Sinai while it got its new location—at the former Beneficial Bank on Highland Avenue—ready, said Brenner.
