Man Posed As FBI 'Courier' To Scam Burlington Co. Resident: Police
A phone scammer told the victim they owed the government $40K and needed to pay it in cash, authorities said.

EVESHAM, NJ — A South Jersey man posed as an FBI "courier" to scam a victim out of $40,000 last week, according to Evesham police.
An Evesham resident received a phone call on Feb. 13 from a person claiming to be a member of the FBI, police said. The caller told the victim they owned the government $40,000 and that they must withdraw the money so a "courier" could retrieve the cash at their home.
The victim alerted Evesham police, believing that they were targeted in a scam. Detectives quickly confirmed it was a case of fraud.
