Photo Gallery: Temple Sinai Students Hop for a Good Cause

Preschool students learn about disability awareness and giving back to their community.

In an effort to reflect the values of community service set by Rabbi Fineblum and , Cinnaminson’s (TSNS) hosted its first hop-a-thon.

In partnership with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), the children took part in a new program focused on disability awareness. An innovative and exciting curriculum designed for little learners was taught to all the students including the youngest ones.

At TSNS, the teachers try to teach the children how they can help affect positive changes within their community. The hop-a-thon provides the perfect platform in their effort to have kids helping kids. The children and their families were diligent in fundraising, hoping to raise enough funds to reach their goal—sending one child to a clinic visit.

The time the students spent fundraising and learning about children with different abilities culminated in the hop-a-thon event where each child was required to hop for two minutes.

On May 14, the students gathered at Temple Sinai for an afternoon filled with face painting, crafts, a karate exhibition from Amerikick, Delran.

Parents were invited to join in the fun and even hopped alongside their children during the event. In all, the event was an enormous success as evidenced by the smiles and giggles coloring the children’s faces with pride and a sense of accomplishment.

TSNS has programs for children 2½ to 4 years old. The twos and threes learn socialization skills, begin to develop gross and fine motor skills, and most importantly, a love of learning. Building upon those skills, the fours class offers a successful and engaging program focused on kindergarten preparedness.

The program is open to children of all faiths and potty-training is not required. The nursery school is currently accepting registration for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year.
