“We are fortunate to be partnering for a third time with the American Cancer Society for their Relay for Life event in Cinnaminson,” Singleton said. “Cancer is a disease that affects so many individuals and families each year, so it is an honor to lend a helping hand to this organization which tirelessly dedicates their time and resources to find a cure.”
The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Their mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight to a world without cancer. For years, they have been the front-runners in the community’s fight to eliminate cancer and raise awareness.

Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society's signature fundraiser dedicated to helping communities combat cancer. Residents gather to walk to raise awareness of, and money to fight, cancer.
The opening ceremony gives participants a chance to recognized everyone who's been impacted by cancer and everyone who has donated to the relay this year.
The walk is followed by a Luminara Ceremony, in which everyone touched by cancer is recognized with a Luminaria. Each light represents a life—a life taken by cancer, a survivor of cancer, or a support for a person still fighting the disease.
During the closing ceremony, participants celebrate their accomplishment and commit to continuing to battle cancer.
The theme for this year’s Cinnaminson Relay for Life is “Carnival for a Cure.” Teams can decorate their campsite to fit a carnival theme, and if they would like, can choose a carnival game for their onsite fundraiser.

The Relay for Life service project will be the 34th “Serve with Senator Singleton” event since Singleton became a State Senator in 2018.
Previous volunteer efforts include: indoor and outdoor clean-up days, animal welfare projects, clothing and supply drives, painting projects, and community event set-up and staffing. To date, more than 1,300 hours have been donated by volunteers to local community service projects.
“I am guided by the idea that service is the rent we pay for living on this earth,” Singleton said. “These monthly community service events have been a priority for me during my first term as State Senator, and they will continue to be. They have brought together people of different backgrounds, ages, and perspectives for a common purpose - to be of service to their community.”
