Teen Driver Rams Into Cop Car At Scene Of Crash They Caused In BurlCo: Police
The suspect, 16, intentionally struck the police car while driving a stolen vehicle, authorities said.
FLORENCE, NJ — A teenage driver got into a crash and then returned to the scene to intentionally strike a police car on Friday in Burlington County, authorities said.
Shortly after, three officers were injured while arresting the 16-year-old suspect, who was driving a stolen vehicle in Florence Township, police said.
The initial crash, which caused a vehicle to overturn, happened around 4:30 p.m. Friday on Route 130 South at Cumberland Street.

Florence Township police were responding to the scene when the suspect returned and purposely struck their patrol car, officials said. The police vehicle was significantly damaged.
After hitting the police car, the suspect's vehicle broke down on nearby Delaware Avenue, police said. The teen tried to run away, but police caught them shortly after.

Police say they recovered a knife at the scene.
Authorities determined that the suspect was also responsible for the initial crash.
Three officers sustained minor injuries during the arrest, police said. They have been released from the hospital.
The suspect also had outstanding warrants out of Virginia, police said. But authorities did not disclose their hometown or any other identifying information.
The teen was jailed in Middlesex County, which has a juvenile-detention facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
