BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — Here's a list of upcoming events in the Burlington County area, courtesy of our friends at Visit South Jersey, the official Destination Marketing Organization for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties, and the Outer Coast Plain Wine Region in South Jersey.
The Whitesbog Preservation Trust will host a Winter Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. You never know what you might find at their Saturday Markets! Walking stick and magic wand vendor? Handmade crochet hats, scarves, embroidered aprons? Body lotions, candles, herb mixes and smudging supplies? Handwoven baskets and instruments? Books from local authors? Live Jug Band Music? Beeswax candles and local honey? Cranberry jam and salsa tastings? Guided walks with historians, naturalists and botanists? Volunteer Days with projects for all to join in? Living History interpreters in cottages and museums? And Historic General Store shopping! Join their vendors and General Store Porch sale for some great local handmade items and tasty jams, honey, chocolates, walking sticks and grab a trail map and head out for a hike around the trails and bogs. It’s not New Year’s Day anymore, but Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge will host its rescheduled First Day Night Hike from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday. First Day Hikes are part of a nationwide initiative led by America’s State Parks to encourage people to get outdoors. On New Year’s Day, hundreds of free, guided hikes will be organized in all 50 states. Kids and adults all across America will be participating in First Day Hikes, getting their hearts pumping and enjoying the beauty of a state park. Last year nearly 55,000 people rang in the New Year, collectively hiking over 133,000 miles throughout the country. Winterfest Ice Skating returns to Cooper River Park near the corner of Cuthbert Boulevard and Park Avenue in Cherry Hill from Nov. 26 through Feb. 21. Hours of Operation:
- Thursdays: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Fridays: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Saturdays: Noon to 10 p.m.
- Sundays: Noon to 9 p.m.
