2 Firefighters Hurt After Fire In Union County

A family is also homeless, according to a gofundme fundraiser that was created.

GARWOOD, NJ — Two firefighters were injured after a fire on Nov. 30 along Center Street, the Garwood Fire Department said.

A woman, her fiancé, and their children were also left homeless, according to a gofundme fundraiser that was created.

At around 2:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a fire within five minutes from dispatch at a home in the 500 block of Center Street and immediately began an interior attack. Additional crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

Two firefighters were taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under review.
