Longtime Diner Closing Permanently, Dispensary To Replace Camden Co. Eatery

The 41-year-old diner will close in a few days as the owners prepare to retire.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — The Collingswood Diner will permanently close after 41 years and get replaced by a cannabis dispensary.

The diner's last day in service will be Sunday.

Owners Jimmy and Andrea Papandreou posted a note on the door about the upcoming closure, saying that they're retiring.

"THE OWNERS HAVE SOLD THE BUSINESS AND ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO RETIREMENT," says the note, which South Jersey Food Scene shared.

A dispensary will replace the diner, Jimmy Papandreou told The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Former diners have been common spots for New Jersey dispensaries in recent years because of their roadside locations and zoning laws that keep them away from residential neighborhoods.

The Collingswood Diner also has a prime highway location with a lot sandwiched between Crescent Boulevard and the White Horse Pike.
