Pennsauken Man Had Stolen Gun, Police Say

Virad Sot was caught during a traffic stop in East Camden, police said.

A Pennsauken man was arrested after officers found a loaded, stolen handgun in his car during a stop in East Camden Monday night, Camden County Police said.

Officers Joseph Cella and Ryan Miller stopped Virad Sot, 25, on North 35th Street around 9:30 p.m. for a motor vehicle violation, police said, and spotted the gun sitting on the car's back seat.

The gun, a Lorcin 9mm that had been reported stolen from Lexington County, South Carolina, was loaded with seven rounds, police said.

Sot, who was sentenced to five years' probation for a 2009 drug dealing conviction, was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, certain persons not to have weapons, receiving stolen property and two motor vehicle violations, and was taken to the Camden County Jail in default of $50,000 cash or bond bail.
