Patch called the restaurant Tuesday and was told The Pub will undergo maintenance during the summer, when business tends to slow down.

"They like to close for the summer to give everyone vacation time and also to do repairs and maintenance on the building during the slow summer months," a representative of The Pub told Patch.

The Pub shuttered last summer for renovations and repairs before reopening in the fall.

The restaurant first opened off Airport Circle in 1951, serving as a recognizable dining destination for people driving to and from Philadelphia. The massive, Tudor-style building seats up to 500 and has a giant open hearth with charcoal-fired ovens.

The Pub is located at 7600 Kaighns Ave.
