Sidewalk Sale, Second Saturday: Week Ahead

Plus: DiBartolo's makeover hits the small screen, and a last taste of Blackbird.

Whether you're up for some shopping, dining or just vegging out in front of the TV, there's plenty to do in Collingswood this week.

First up: Monday night, the Cooking Channel broadcasts Save My Bakery, the reality television show featuring the makeover of DiBartolo Bakery, which unveiled its new look back in March.

Showtimes are at 8 p.m. and midnight on channel 166 for Verizon FiOS customers and 122 for Comcast subscribers. The show will re-air 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. July 13.

Then, starting Tuesday, Blackbird chef Alex Capasso sends off his dining establishment with a week of $35, prix-fixe meals. The menu's currently a secret, but Capasso told Patch that diners can expect "some of the special dishes that we've always done at Blackbird."

The weekend fun downtown kicks off early with the Collingswood Summer Sidewalk Sale, which runs July 11-13 along Haddon Avenue and Powell Lane. Look for special deals from your favorite merchants heading right on into Second Saturday, which runs from 5 to 10 p.m. downtown.

Finally, you can add in some more shopping while you support the local arts scene with 4 Towns 4 Art co-founder Evelyn Taylor's Summer Studio Open House. Take a tour of Taylor's creative space, sample refreshments and see what kinds of art your neighbors are making.
