8 Thai Opens In Downtown Cranford

The new Thai restaurant made its soft launch on Tuesday and is now open for business.

CRANFORD, NJ — A new Thai restaurant made its debut in downtown Cranford on Tuesday and is open for business.

8 Thai opened their doors Tuesday to celebrate their soft opening, according to a Facebook post from Downtown Cranford. The restaurant is replacing Bel Giardino, a beloved Italian restaurant that offered classic pastas, pizzas and sub sandwiches.

Located at 103 Miln Street, Downtown Cranford said owner Ton and his team are "very excited to be part of the Cranford community."

Ton recommends customers try the Drunken Noodle, which is stir fried flat noodles with egg, onion, bell pepper, string beans, mushroom and basil in a hot pepper sauce, according to Downtown Cranford.

He also suggested the 8 Thai Spicy Basil, which is a choice of chicken, vegetable, tofu, beef, shrimp or calamari sautéed with garlic, chili, onion, bell pepper, string beans and basil in a hot pepper sauce.

Many of the items on the menu can also be made gluten-free, according to Downtown Cranford.

The ribbon-cutting for the restaurant is set to take place in a few weeks.

Tuesday-Thursday: 11:30am-3pm, 4:30-9pm
Friday: 11:30-3pm, 4:30-10pm
Saturday: 12-3:30, 5-10pm
Sunday: 1-9pm
