Back To School: Cranford's Calendar For The 2022-23 Academic Year
School is starting soon in Cranford. Check out all the important dates you need to know this coming year:
CRANFORD, NJ — Back to school season is right around the corner, and there are some important dates to keep in mind.
The first day of school in the Cranford Public Schools District is Tuesday, Sept. 6 — the day after Labor Day.
Schools will close on Monday, Sept. 26 and Tuesday, Sept. 27 for the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, and again on Oct. 5 for Yom Kippur.

As of now, there are no mask mandates for students and staff.
COVID-19 school guidelines could be significantly relaxed by the CDC in the coming days. Specifically, guidelines addressing screening for the virus as well as social distancing could be eased, according to CNN.

Here are some other important dates for Cranford parents and students to look out for:
- Nov. 10-11: NJEA Convention, schools closed
- Nov. 24-25: Thanksgiving Recess
- Dec. 23-30: Winter Recess
- Jan. 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, schools closed
- Feb. 20: Presidents' Day, schools closed
- April 6-14: Spring Break
- May 29: Memorial Day, schools closed
- June 6: Primary Day, schools closed
- June 21-22: Last day of school (22), half days
Cranford has three snow days available. If schools are closed for more than than three snow/emergency days, make-up time will occur in order as follows: April 14, April 13, April 12, April 11.
