New Cafe & Grill Brings Latin Flavor To Downtown Cranford

CRANFORD, NJ — New spicy Spanish flavors have been unleashed in Downtown Cranford with the opening of "Cozy Cafe and Grill" on Dec. 18.

Setting up shop at the site of the old "Agave" at 117 North Union Ave., Cozy serves American dishes with what co-owner Sandra Paola calls "Latin infusion." She and co-owner Victor Garcia said their menu is crafted with love to showcase their cultural roots in the form of traditional home-cooked food.

"We were motivated to style the food this way because it reflects comfort, family, and tradition," said Sandra. "Our goal is to share flavors that feel familiar yet exciting, while honoring the dishes and techniques we grew up around."

That looks like pancakes, waffles, eggs, salads, burgers, and more, "where the food and coffee are made with love." The name "Cozy" is a call to the atmosphere they want customers to feel as soon as they walk in the door: relaxed, comfortable, and at home.

"Cranford felt like the perfect place for our first restaurant because of its strong community spirit, vibrant downtown, and appreciation for small, local businesses," Sandra added. "It felt like a place where Cozy could truly belong.

"Being part of a town where people show up for one another makes opening our restaurant here especially meaningful."

Cozy starts serving breakfast at 7:30 a.m. every day of the week and closes at 3 p.m. The full-service restaurant shuts for an hour from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays and then begins serving dinner until 9 p.m.
