Plainfield Municipal Utility Authority (PMUA), the Township’s Bulk Waste Collection provider for the past four years, has been dissolved, so we aggressively sought bids from other providers. Unfortunately, like so many of our neighboring towns, we did not receive any bids and are obliged to find alternative solutions for our residents.
We advertised in multiple outlets and reached out directly to many waste providers to garner interest in continuing the Township-wide program, but we did not receive interest from waste providers due to the difficulty in maintaining staffing for such a large undertaking, rising costs in gas, and their increasing costs to dispose of bulk materials.
