Cranford BOE Selects New Principal Of Bloomingdale Ave. School

CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford's Board of Education announced Monday that Kristen D'Anna will be the new principal of Bloomingdale Avenue School.

Superintendent Scott Rubin sent an email to the school community, saying D'Anna was selected after an extensive search process which included multiple interviews with the selection committee, reviews of work samples and a through reference check.

D'Anna began her her career as an elementary school teacher in the Freehold Township School District in 2004 where she taught first, second, and third grades, according to the announcement.

D’Anna also served on several curriculum committees, was a member of the Intervention and Referral Services Team, School Improvement Panel and Positive Behavior Intervention Support Committee.

In 2015, she transitioned into an administration role as the Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction, PK-8, in East Hanover Township Schools.

"During this time, she supported the enhancement of teaching and learning practices throughout the district, while also serving as the Program Coordinator for all federal grants and Title I Programs," Rubin wrote.

Most recently, D’Anna served as the principal of the kindergarten through second grade school in East Hanover.

D’Anna earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Delaware and a Masters of Arts in Educational Administration from Georgian Court University.

"She looks forward to partnering with the dedicated staff at Bloomingdale, parents/guardians, students and the community to see how she can best serve the school and ensure a successful year for all students," Rubin wrote.
