Cranford Football Player Chosen for All-Star North vs. South Game
Chris Folinusz was nominated and selected to represent Cranford in Monday's game.

Senior Chris Folinusz was selected to represent Cranford in the North vs. South All-Star game, which takes place on Monday at Kean University.
Folinusz was chosen following a nomination from his coach. He said he is looking forward to the excitement of the game and playing with other top football players.
“It’s exciting to represent the school,” he said. “A lot of good kids from around the state will be playing and it will be fun to see how I measure up.”
He added that it would be nice to have one last football game before heading off to college.
Next year, Folinusz is heading off to Rutgers to join the University’s baseball team. He has played both baseball and football his entire life, he said.
“It was hard a hard choice between baseball and football in college,” he expressed.
Head Football Coach Erik Rosenmeier said he is happy Folinusz is playing baseball in college, but he could have played either sport at the collegiate level.
“I’m happy he played football for me and Cranford,” he said. “It’s really remarkable to have such an ability in two sports.”
Folinusz was given the choice to either play in the Snapple Bowl or in the North vs. South game and he left it up to his coach to decide.
Rosenmeier said he knew Folinusz belonged in the North vs. South game but wanted to give him the choice since he is loyal to Union County.
“Chris was an elite football player,” Rosenmeier said. “I knew he belonged in the game representing Cranford.”
The North vs. South All-Star game pulls from a larger area of New Jersey than the Snapple Bowl, which is just Union County vs. Middlesex County.
Rosenmeier said by Folinusz being selected for the North vs. South game this also gave an extra player the opportunity to participate in the Snapple Bowl.
The All-Star North vs. South game will take place on June 24 at 7 p.m. at Kean University in Union.
