Cranford Fourth of July Guide

The daylong celebration takes place at Nomahegan Park.

Canoe Races kick off Cranford’s annual Fourth of July celebration with a day full of activities that conclude with sparks in the park.

Line up at 7:30 a.m. to register for canoe races, which begin at 8 a.m. at the Canoe Club. Races held for mother & father pairs, mother and child pairs and father and child pairs. Also, participants can register in age groups of 10 to 13, 14 to 20, 21 and up and more.

At 8:30 a.m. a fun run begins on Springfield Avenue, followed by the annual Firecracker 4 four-mile run, which starts at 9 a.m. Read more about the Firecracker 4 event, here.

What more does the day have to offer?

At 1:30 p.m., a Bike Decorating contest is held for kids from 4 to 10.

Additional fun games, such as an egg toss and backwards race start at 2 p.m.

From 2 to 10 p.m. enjoy a treat, bounce in the inflatable houses or play some games until you find a spot on the grass to enjoy the fireworks set to blast off at 9:05 p.m.
